Video Spotlight: Immune System
Watch this video to learn more about the research conducted on immune function and yoga.
Basic Research includes studies that are performed on healthy people. The term includes studies of mechanisms for how yoga works on the mind-body complex. For example, how does long-term yoga practice change the structure of the region of the brain involved in pain regulation?
This category of research also includes studies in normal, healthy subjects that involve more practical applications and aspects of yoga, such as disease prevention and the characteristics of yoga practice in society. For example, what are the most prevalent barriers to yoga practice in society today?
Our hope is for yoga schools and yoga teachers to utilize this impactful content in their teachings to promote and highlight yoga's evident multi-faceted ability to improve lives.
