Build Your Online Yoga Resume

The fifth and final assignment in our profile completion contest was to “Share Where You Teach” in the "Teaching Experience" field of your Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT®) profile. Since you can post both current and past teaching experience, this new profile feature enables you to build an online yoga resume using your RYT profile!

Many of you shared your profiles with us on social media, so we pulled together a couple of tips on how to use this new feature to showcase your teaching career.

Show your experience, past and present

Experience is one aspect of credibility. when a potential student is contemplating.  Profiles from Jayne, RYT 500 from Tennessee, and Brooke, E-RYT 200, RYT 500 from Alabama, are fine examples of yoga resumes that show a range of teaching experiences, in different locations, including both current and previous places:

Go beyond the studio

Serving the yoga community means meeting people where they're at. In this week's submissions, we discovered RYTs sharing yoga outside of yoga studios. You can showcase all of the places you teach at in your profile. For example, Hethyr, RYT 500 from Colorado, teaches yoga to children in kindergarten through fourth grade at an elementary school and Sue, RYT 200 from Ontario, teaches at a local recreation center for seniors:

Thank you all for diving into the new profile features, adding your biographies, photos, teaching hours, types of yoga and teaching experience. When filled out completely, your personal profile page can become an online resume to share with potential students or employers. (To find your link, simply navigate to your profile page on the web, and copy all of the text including the "www" in your browser's address bar at the top of the screen.)

Use the tips and tricks we’ve shared over the last few weeks (check out the related articles below) to make your RYT profile shine. Stay tuned next week to find out who won our contest on Facebook!
