I was first introduced to yoga & meditation as a teen by my grandparents. I started to regularly attend classes in my twenties when an unhealthy lifestyle prompted me to make changes. I found that yoga helped improve my physical and mental health. I connected deeply with the lifestyle and philosophy of yoga. It became a part of my life and spirituality. My well-being and stress levels were improving with every practice and within a few years I saw yoga becoming apart of my daily life. I truly love the blissful feeling at the end of a each class I attend. As a student, I couldn't stop talking about the benefits of yoga (I still can't) and brought many family and friends to my home studio. I kept hearing over and over from my mentors "you should really think about teaching." I received my 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification in 2016 under the guidance of Leslie Coombs at Avalon Yoga & Wellness Center. Within the early months of teaching, I knew I had found my calling! Given my first-hand experience with the benefits of yoga, I particularly enjoy introducing new students to the practice. I strive to incorporate alignment, postures, breath work, yogic philosophy, and meditation into each of my classes. My additional trainings include teaching meditation, chair yoga, and yoga & mindfulness for children ages 2-12. My passion for building a community helps create a supportive environment in my classes. I teach group classes and private lessons to all levels, ages, and abilities. I live in Ellicott City, MD with my amazing husband, Josh. Together we co-teach Shamanic Yoga workshops and short courses. Also, I work part-time as a rehabilitation technician at Physical Therapy at Crossroads. Please reach out to me if you want to learn more about what I practice, love, and teach!
