YA Enjoys the Great Outdoors at Wanderlust Squaw Valley

July 31, 2015

The Yoga Alliance® team set off to Lake Tahoe, CA, from July 16-19 for Wanderlust Squaw Valley. Spokesperson Andrew Tanner joined staff, volunteers and photographers to meet members of the yoga community and discuss the future of YA’s role within it.

Regarded as the fastest growing yoga festival in the nation, Wanderlust brings together thought leaders and innovators in the areas of yoga and wellness. Framed by Squaw Valley’s breathtaking mountain scenery, over 10,000 yogis settled in for four days of yoga practices and talks led by renowned teachers, and live music performed by a variety of artists. As described on the Wanderlust website, “The integration of a yoga program with all of the outdoor activities and natural beauty of Squaw Valley creates a totally unique experience for local residents and guests.”

YA’s staff and volunteers shared information about our goals for social credentialing and the success of recent advocacy efforts with Wanderlust attendees. In our continued effort to be responsive to the community’s needs, YA staff also took time to listen to the concerns of yoga teachers and studio owners. Booth visitors were invited to our popular photo booth for a free head shot. Those who stopped by were overwhelmingly supportive and offered valuable insight into our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in California! Our next Wanderlust appearance is in Whistler, British Columbia, beginning on July 30. Keep an eye on Our Calendar for future opportunities to meet with YA staff and representatives in person or during one of our online workshops.
