Dr. Marc Halpern is the founder and President of the California College of Ayurveda, the oldest school of Ayurveda in the United States. A leader in the field of Ayurveda in the United States, he is the co-founder of the National Ayurvedic Association (NAMA), the National Council on Ayurvedic Education (NCAE) and the California Association of Association of Ayurveda (CAAM). He has written three textbooks on the principles and clinical practices of Ayurveda used at colleges across the United States and the popular book, Lessons on the Path of Ayurveda. He is also the author of the #1 best selling Meditation CD; Yoga Nidra and Self Healing. Dr. Halpern has co-authored several published original research papers in the field of Ayurvedic Dermatology in collaboration with a team of researchers at University of California- Davis. He also sits on the editorial boards of five different
indexed journals in the United States and in India. Dr. Halpern also serves as a Director of the non-profit organization called “The HeartWay”. A non-profit organization dedicated to returning intimacy, reverence and sanctity to the process of death and dying.
Marc Halpern was originally a Chiropractor and post-graduate specialist in Holistic Healthcare. He began his studies of Ayurveda in 1991 with Dr. David Frawley and went on to study Ayurveda with . Subhash Ranade in 1993. He is also a teacher of Yoga in the Sivananda Yoga Lineage. He has received awards for his service to Ayurveda in both the United States and India including the Best Ayurvedic Physician Award presented by the Indian Minister of Health and Welfare, the Dhanvantari Award for Excellence in Ayurvedic Practice, and the Caraka Award for Excellence in Ayurvedic Teaching by the American Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America.
