Lucy Lomax, E-RYT 500, RPYT, YACEP. I have been practicing yoga over 30 years and teaching yoga for 23 years. As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, I teach workshops and intensives oriented towards strengthening and lengthening areas of the body that have become stiff or weak through today's more sedentary lifestyles. I focus on helping students get back in touch with feeling and sensing their bodies rather than the more cerebral practices of thinking and analyzing.
Since electing an early retirement in 2003 after almost 33 years as a Public Financial Policy Analyst, I have been applying my analytical skills to the anatomy and physiology of observing, understanding, and teaching yoga asana (poses) and meditation. I focus on teaching the therapeutic elements of alignment-based yoga and trauma-sensitive yoga practices. I am a Certified Warriors at Ease teacher, Certified iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation teacher, and a Y4A Yoga For Amputees Master Teacher Trainer. I also am trained by Cancer Exercise Training Institute, Prison Yoga Project, Sensory Enhanced Yoga Institute, and Dr. Loren Fishman's Yoga for Lower Back Pain, and Yoga vs. Osteoporosis Series 1 trained.
